Life is back to normal and it’s just Tim and I in the house now. We had a slew of friends come and visit the last two weeks. It started with Tim’s friend Rahul who decided on a last minute trip to get out of dodge and came to visit us, then my girlfriend Jenne and her husband Tom for their anniversary, Tim’s friend Aaron who was moving to Napa for culinary school, my friend Tod who is leaving for the Peace Corps in a couple of weeks and came to say good-bye before he leaves and we also got to see Aaron’s girlfriend Aparna (sp? – sorry, I know I spelled that incorrectly) who came to see Aaron. It’s been a busy summer.
What Tim and I learned from all of our visitors and going sightseeing is that because Tim drives to work and I bus it, the San Francisco we each know is different. Tim knows all the places outside of downtown San Francisco and I know the city better, or at least whatever is accessible by the #1, #2, and #38 buses. So when we talk about San Francisco and what we’ve done and seen it sounds like two different places. Our collective knowledge gets us around pretty well. If we’re out on our own we’re screwed.
We're looking forward to our next guests - my mom and her husband Stuart in October. Until then Tim and I will try to get out and see more of the city and learn more of each other's San Francisco.
